Product Specialist I - Elkhart County, IN

Here at Intermotive Vehicle Controls, we serve several markets that manufacture many types of vehicles including Transit Buses, Fire and Rescue, Police, Work Trucks, as well as RV's. About the Job

The Product Specialist I is responsible for providing technical support to customers mainly in the Elkhart County, IN area who are installing, and using various automotive electronic modules that utilize the vehicle's CAN network in various types of vehicles. These include, but are not limited to: Buses, Ambulances, RVs, and Work Trucks. This position will involve interactions with various levels of management, engineers, and production staff.

Core Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform Audits at the OEM's facility
  • Perform Quality Control Inspection of products before delivery
  • Deliveries to the OEM's facility
  • Perform onsite diagnosis, maintenance, and repairs at the OEM's.
  • Increasing knowledge of an ever-increasing product line up by working with product engineers, and reviewing technical specifications, and installation instructions.
  • Assist with production on a regular basis as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Good working knowledge of various vehicle 12V DC electrical systems.
  • General knowledge of 12V power supply systems, installation, and use.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in basic computer skills
  • Excellent verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Able to perform physical work, and lift varying loads of up to 60 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

The minimum educational requirement includes a high school diploma or equivalent. Technical/Vocational training is preferred.

  • Three, to five years 12V electrical installation, repair, and/or maintenance.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail while maintaining professionalism with customers.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments, and personnel levels.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Unblemished driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Ability to regularly lift up to 60 lbs.
